Company History
How it all began
Mectric Solutions was founded in 2006, originally trading as Conquest Electrical Ltd, before rebranding to reflect its expansion into full mechanical and electrical contracting. Over the years, the company has grown from its electrical roots into a multi-disciplinary contractor delivering projects across commercial, residential, leisure and industrial sectors. Based in Hertfordshire, Mectric has built its reputation on quality, compliance and long-standing client relationships, combining family -run values with modern expertise in sustainable building services.
2006
The company was incorporated in December under the name Conquest Electrical Ltd, founded by Martin Cosgrove. Its focus was primarily on electrical contracting, providing installation and testing services.
2009
The company rebranded as Mectric Solutions Ltd to reflect its broader ambition of becoming a full mechanical and electrical (M&E) contractor.
2010
Mectric steadily grew its team and service offering, expanding beyond electrical work into mechanical installations, plumbing, fire protection systems and full refurbishment projects. The company also gained NICEIC accreditation and aligned its work with the latest BS7671 standards, strengthening its reputation for compliance and quality.
2015
Mectric’s portfolio diversified across multiple sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, leisure and retail. It’s ability to deliver both small-scale works and large design-and-build projects established it as a trusted partner for repeat customers.
2025
Today, based in Hoddesdon, with offices in London too, Mectric Solutions is a well-established, family- founded contractor known for delivering technically sound, safe and sustainable M&E solutions. The business continues to grow, combining traditional values of reliability with modern expertise in energy efficiency and low-carbon building services.
